"NORTHSIDE-SOUTHSIDE HOTTEST FAN PHOTO CONTEST"
OFFICIAL WGN-TV RULES
1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Entrants must be 18 years of age.
2. HOW TO ENTER: Entrants must sign a WGN-TV Participant Release and agree to have their picture taken by the station and posted on the WGN-TV website (wgntv.com). WGN-TV will post all eligible entrant photos by July 28, 2010.
3. SELECTION OF WINNERS: For each team, Northside and Southside, there will be up to 250 of each gender, male and female. Team affiliation will be determined by the participant. All voting rounds pertain to those four categories: Male Northside, Female Northside, Male Southside and Female Southside. Once entrant photos are posted on WGNtv.com, viewers will be invited to vote for their favorite Northside or Southside hottest fan in multiple rounds as described below. All decisions regarding the administration of this contest made by WGN-TV are final and binding.
A) First Round: July 29-August 13, 2010: All entrant photos will be posted for the First Round no later than 11am on 7/29/10. On-line voting will be conducted from 7/29/10 through 11:59AM on 8/13/10. On 8/13/10, the 50 entrant photos that receive the highest number of votes during the First Round will be deemed First Round Qualifiers and will advance to the Second Round.
B) Second Round: August 13-August 20,2010: All fifty First Round Winner photos will be posted for the Second Round no later than 3PM August 13, 2009. Viewers and website users may vote on-line from 8/13/10 at noon through 11:59AM on August 20, 2010. On August 20, 2010, the 10 entrant photos that receive the highest number of votes during the Second Round will be deemed Second Round Qualifiers and will advance to the Third Round.
C) Third Round: August 20, 2010-August 27, 2010: Ten (10) Second Round Qualifiers photos’ will be posted for the Third Round no later than 3pm on August 20, 2010. Viewers and website users may vote on-line from August 20, 2010 at 3pm through 11:59AM on August 27, 2010. On August 27, 2010 the 2 entrant photos that receive the highest number of votes during the Third Round will be deemed Third Round Qualifiers and will advance to the Final Round.
D) Final Round: August 27, 2010-September 3, 2010: Two (2) Third Round Qualifiers photos’ will be posted for the Final Round no later than 3pm on August 27, 2010. Viewers and website users may vote on-line from August 27, 2010 at 3pm through 11:59AM on September 3, 2010. The Finalists whose photo receives the highest number of votes during the Final Round will be deemed the Winners, of their respective categories, subject to eligibility confirmation and compliance with these rules. There will only be one (1) winner from each category. The final two entrants in each category will be invited to an evening event held at Rebel Bar, located at 3462 North Clark Street, Chicago, IL on Friday, September 10, 2010. The winner will be announced at that event.
If the winners are determined to be ineligible, cannot be reached by reasonable means within a reasonable amount of time, or who otherwise fails to comply with these Official Rules shall be disqualified, and the first runner up (i.e.,the Finalist with the next highest number of votes earned during the Final Round) shall be deemed the winner.
4. ONLINE VOTING: Viewers may vote by visiting wgntv.com and clicking on the Northside/Southside Hottest link at any time during any of the winner selection rounds. Viewers may vote as often as they wish, but automated means of voting are prohibited. WGN is not responsible for lost, incomplete, damaged, illegible, late, or misdirected votes, or for errors in mechanical transmission, technical difficulties or inability to transmit votes.
5. THE PRIZES: One (1) male and one (1) female will be chosen as Grand Prize Winners for each baseball team (Cubs and Sox). There will be a total of four (4) winners. Each winner will receive one (1) $100 gift certificate, which can be used at Rebel Bar located at 3462 North Clark Street, Chicago, IL. Each male winner will also receive one (1) $100 gift certificate to Wrigleyville Sports. Each female winner will also receive one (1) $100 gift certificate to Lori’s Shoes. (ARV: $200 per winner).
The prize will be forfeited if the winner fails to claim prize by deadline, fails to execute the prepared forms of release and waiver, or if the selected winner is not eligible in accordance with these rules. Prizes are not assignable or transferable. Federal, state and local taxes, if any, are solely the responsibility of the winner, who will receive a 1099 tax form reflecting the actual value of the prize if the prize value exceeds $600.
6. CONDITIONS & RESTRICTIONS:
a. Use of winner's name: By entering, each entrant grants permission, without further compensation, or prior approval rights, to WGN, its agents and licensees, or prior approval rights to use the entrant's name, voice, photograph, likeness and biographical material for promotional purposes in connection with the contest.
b. Execution of Affidavit and Release: By entering, each entrant agrees that if selected as the winner, she will sign a release and waiver of liability. The prize will be forfeited and awarded to another entrant if the winners do not execute the prepared form of release and waiver within three days of notification of being the winner, or if selected as THE winner is not eligible in accordance with these rules.
c. Release of Liability: By entering, entrants agree to release WGN from any claim, loss, liability, damage or injury of any kind arising from their participation in the contest or their receipt or use of the contest prize.
d. Prize Substitutions: No substitute prizes are available. Prizes are non-transferable and may not be redeemed for cash. If the prize becomes unavailable for any reason, WGN reserves the right to substitute a prize of comparable value.
7. ELIGIBILITY: This contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older and a legal US citizen and/or in the US legally during the time of this promotion. Employees and their immediate family members of WGN, the CW Television Network, Rebel, Wrigleyville Sports, Lori’s Shoes and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, and advertising/promotion agencies are not eligible to participate or win. Semi-finalists should be able to attend the ‘winner announcement party on September 10.
8. INTERNET/FORCE MAJEURE: If for any reason, this contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, tampering, fraud, technical failure, or any other cause which corrupts or threatens the administration, security or integrity of the contest, WGN-TV reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate or suspend the Contest or any portion of the Contest. ANY ATTEMPT TO DAMAGE OR UNDERMINE THE FAIR AND LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS CONTEST WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION FROM THE CONTEST. Information submitted in Internet entries, including entrant's name, address, e-mail address, etc, shall become the property of WGN-TV, and may be used by WGN-TV for marketing or promotional purposes. Contest shall be governed and enforced pursuant to Illinois law, excluding choice of law provisions.
